~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
WhhatsApp in recent times has become like a box of chocolates. You don't know what next is coming out of it. There is small or big change every time you update the app from Play Store. The chat app has come a long way from being just a simple messaging app to becoming so much more. You can today make calls, share location, share files, set Status and do so much more from just one app. WhatsApp Payments is gong to be next one big leap for the company.
The app has 1.5 billion monthly users today and it is all because of the frequent updates pushed by the chat company to continue making the app more engaging. And the Facebook-owned chat app does not want to stop here. The company is planning on to bring some more big updates to its app. There are news all over that the company is bringing features like Payments service, groups calls, private replies and similar more big changes to the app. Many beta users have even started receiving some of these features.
So what are these top most-awaited features of WhatsApp and what will change after these feature go live. Take a look:
1. WhatsApp Payments feature: Paytm, Google Tez and government's own BHIM payment service will soon have a new competition- WhatsApp Payments. WhatsApp plans to go beyond a chat app, it is now aiming to also become a payment service provider.
WhatsApp Payments is a UPI-based payment service from chat app. Many Android and iOS beta users in India have even received the feature on their phones. According to a screenshot shared by WaBetaInfo, the feature will show up inside the WhatsApp Settings. You will be able to make quick bank to bank money transfers without any extra charges via this feature. WhatsApp Payments goes at the top of WhatsApp's most awaited feature list.
2. WhatsApp Group calls: Introducing group calls to WhatsApp's voice and video calls is going to be the second big feature from the app. WaBetaInfo reports that chat app is working to bring group calls to its voice and video calls. Currently, you can make voice or video calls to only contact at a time. This feature will allow you to add more people to voice calls just like the conference calls and Messenger-like group video calls.
3. Shake to report: Last year we saw several blackouts of WhatsApp. The chat app has finally realised the problem and is working on a Shake to report feature. The feature is yet to roll out.
4. Private replies: In future you will not have to leave a group chat to reply someone privately. The chat app is working on this feature. It will allow you to reply to someone privately in a group chat. However, the admin of the group will be able to see it.
5. Tap to unblock: Small but a significant feature-- Tap to unblock -- will allow you to unblock a blocked contact by simply tapping on it. The current process to unblock a contact requires you to go inside the contact and then tap on unblock option.
Andhra Pradesh bandh LIVE UPDATES: Left parties call for shutdown to protest Union Budget
Andhra Pradesh bandh today: Alleging that huge sums were given to other states because of the upcoming polls, the parties slammed the Centre for the "injustice" meted out to Andhra Pradesh.
Left parties in Andhra Pradesh have called for a state-wide bandh today to protest against the “anti-people” Union Budget 2018. Alleging that huge sums were given to other states because of the upcoming polls, the parties slammed the Centre for the “injustice” meted out to Andhra Pradesh.
In a press release jointly issued by the Communist Party of India, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) as well as students’ and labour organisations, people have been asked to participate in large numbers to make the bandh a success. They also added that the budget this year neglected the rural economy.
Disappointed with the budget, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu had also called for a special party meeting to review the party’s ties with its ally BJP. “The CM has asked the MPs to use all means possible to put pressure on the Centre and highlight our problems, including disrupting Parliament even if they face the possibility of suspension.The CM said he is committed to maintaining the coalition dharma, but the protests for justice for Andhra Pradesh should now be out in the open, rather than just sending requests and appeals,” said Kambhampati Rammohan Rao, TDP Central Committee member after the meeting.
CM Chandrababu Naidu, had been visibly upset after the Union Budget 2018 was announced. “I am sticking to the coalition dharma and keeping quiet. I am also restraining my colleagues from speaking out against the BJP. But if they do not want us, I will say ‘namaste’ and walk away,” he had said.
No classes in Andhra University
Andhra University in Visakhapatnam has also announced that classes would be suspended today, a report in The Hinduread. Registrar V. Umamaheswara Rao in a statement said that
the classes were being suspended to avoid inconvenience to students. No classes would be held at all colleges of AU and its affiliated institutions.
Schools reportedly shut in the state
According to a report in The News Minute, schools in the state are also shut today. Elaborate secuity arrangements have been made to maintain the law and order situation. The officials have been directed to keep a strict vigil to prevent any untoward incident or damage to public property.
Not only are the CM and TDP leaders upset with the BJP for ignoring Andhra Pradesh, even the common man knows injustice has been done. The state has lost revenue base post-bifurcation, as Hyderabad has gone to Telangana. It needs hand-holding by the Centre for a few years, till the revenue deficit comes down and the state is up and running,’’ said Kesineni Srinivas, TDP MP from Vijayawada, last week.
Following bifurcation of the state in 2014, TDP leaders have often alleged step-motherly treatment by the Centre in the allocation of funds and incentives. The state also believes that the Centre was not giving adequate funds for construction of its new capital, Amaravati.
RBI Expected To Keep Rates On Hold In Policy Decision Today
Inflation is expected to accelerate after the government's budget last week widened its fiscal deficit target for the fiscal year starting in April to help finance a sharp increase in spending in the rural areas and on healthcare.
  • ➡️Budget 2018 proposes to widen fiscal deficit target for 2018-19
  • Mumbai: The Reserve Bank of India, meeting amid a global market storm, is widely expected to keep its key rate on hold on Wednesday, but toughen its rhetoric as inflation has accelerated sharply, making an increasing number of analysts see a hike this year.
    A Reuters poll showed 58 of 60 economists expect the repo rate to be kept at 6.00 per cent, the lowest since November 2010, and the reverse repo rate at 5.75 per cent. The other two predicted a 25 basis points hike.
But more analysts now believe tightening looms down the road after surging oil and food prices led consumer inflation in the country to a 17-month high of 5.21 per cent in December - well above the RBI's 4 per cent target.
Inflation is expected to accelerate after the government's budget last week widened its fiscal deficit target for the fiscal year starting in April to help finance a sharp increase in spending in the rural areas and on healthcare.
Bond investors are already pricing in rate hikes, with benchmark 10-year bond yields rising over 80 basis points since July, the biggest move since the 2013 rupee crisis.
The Reuters poll showed 14 out of 35 analysts believe the RBI will hike rates by the end of 2018, up from 7 out of 27 in December.
New inflation risks?
But questions remain about how soon the RBI can tighten, given the economy is expected to grow only 6.7 per cent in the current fiscal year - the slowest pace in about three years.
The RBI's policy stance is currently "neutral".
"New inflation risks are emerging post-budget, so it will have to sound hawkish - but not overly so," BNP Paribas told clients on Tuesday, adding it expects two 25-bps rate hikes in 2018's second half.
The RBI has held the repo at 6.0 per cent since a 25 bps cut in August, having taken advantage of a period of extraordinary low inflation to cut rates by 200 bps since early 2015.
For sure, a rate hike in 2018 is far from certain, as the RBI has to be careful not to slow an economy that needs rapid growth to create jobs. The RBI will also be mindful of the global economy, in case of a sharp downturn that impacts India.
Although any move to raise rates could make yields more attractive overseas, it could also undermine confidence in the economy, adding more uncertainty to monetary policy.
According to a recent report on BoxOfficeIndia.com, the film has collected Rs 10.25 crore on Day 8 at the ticket window, taking its overall box-office collection past the 150 crore mark. With the total earnings of Rs 159.5 crore, the film has proved to be a blockbuster and has been liked by both the audience as well as the critics. Even Bollywood celebs took to their respective social media handles to praise the film, with spectacular visuals captured by Bhansali being the highlight of the film.
According to experts, the film's collections could have been higher given that it would have released in all the states of India. Currently, the film can maintain a stronghold at the box-office this week too as there are no major big-budget releases.
Talking about Ranveer-Deepika, Bhansali even revealed that he would continue to work with them. He said, "I love Deepika and the effortlessness which she brings on the set. I even feel that her performances are detailed and nuanced which makes me want to work with her again." Adding to it he even said, "I think Ranveer is aware of his strengths and limitations and hence he knows what to extract from him. Ranveer would achieve much more greatness only if he could become a little effortless too."
Aditi Rao Hydari‏, who played Mehrunissa in 'Padmaavat' has praised Deepika for her role of Padmavati. She tweeted, "A tweet just seems so impersonal but since I haven't managed to get through to you and Ive been away... just to say big respect and huge love for #Padmaavat... to padmavati from mehrunissa! love you @deepikapadukone
