Ghaziabad shocker: Class 5 student 'rapes' Class 2 schoolmate

In a disturbing incident, a Class 5 student in Ghaziabad has been accused of raping a Class 2 student.
The incident happened a month ago, but the girl's parents hadn't initially realized why she was suffering from pain.
They lodged a complaint on December 3

☞ The accused inserted "wooden twigs" inside her vagina

According to the victim's father, the incident happened on November 8. Students had been allowed to leave early due to smog.
Some, including the accused and the victim, were waiting for their parents. He followed when she went to the washroom and assaulted her, inserting a "wooden twig" inside her private parts and slapping her.
Though she told a teacher, no action was taken.

☞ Police and school have launched probes

The parents lodged a police complaint on December 3. The next day, they visited the school, where the girl identified the accused.
"The boy confessed to having slapped my daughter," her father said.
Police have conducted a medical examination and lodged an FIR under Section 376, which specifies rape. They are trying to ascertain what happened.
Meanwhile, the school has launched its own investigation.

☞ How do children commit such horrific crimes?

Often, minor perpetrators don't realize the harm they are inflicting, experts say. In this case, preliminary reports had revealed the incident happened "when the kids were playing pranks with each other"
Moreover, children often learn such behavior by imitating what they observe on TV or from adults.
Elders need to explain the difference between good touch and bad touch.

Benefits such as 1.5 GB data per day and unlimited calls from Vodafone and Airtel come amid intense competition in the telecom sector.

Amid intense price war in the telecom sector after the entry of Reliance Jio, incumbent telecom operators like Vodafone India and Bharti Airtel have ramped up their offers. Both Vodafone and Airtel offer prepaid recharge plans which provide consumers with 1.5 GB data per day, besides the benefit of unlimited calls. Such offers are meant to counter Reliance Jio, the telecom venture of Reliance Industries. Jio has amassed a strong subscriber base in just over a year since its launch through aggressively priced data offers and free calls.

Here is how to avail 1.5 GB data per day from Vodafone, Airtel:

  • Vodafone Rs. 348 prepaid recharge plan :-

This prepaid recharge plan by Vodafone, which earlier used to offer 1GB data per day, now offers 1.5GB 4G2/3G/2G/ per day.
It comes bundled with unlimited local and STD mobile and landline calls.
This plan is valid for 28 days. This is a limited period offer for all handsets, Vodafone said on its website, vodafone.in.

  • Airtel Rs 349 prepaid recharge plan :-

This prepaid recharge plan by India's largest telecom service operator, Airtel, offers 1.5GB data per day along with unlimited local and STD calls for non-commercial use
. Outgoing national roaming, 100 local and STD SMS per day, on all handsets, are also a part of this plan. This Airtel plan is valid for 28 days.

Vodafone also recently launched two plans which offer 1GB data per day.

Vodafone's Rs. 458 prepaid recharge plan offers 1 GB 4G/3G/2G data per day,
along with unlimited local and STD calls, for a validity period of 70 days.

Vodafone's Rs. 509 prepaid recharge plan offers 1 GB 4G/3G/2G data per day, along with unlimited local and STD calls, or a validity period of 84 days.

Airtel offers 1 GB data per day at 4G speed as well as unlimited local and STD calls along with roaming outgoing calls, over a validity period of 35 days, for Rs 399.

Ready to screen Padmavati to quell doubts after censor board clears it: Makers

Makers of Padmavati, Viacom18 Motion Pictures, added that claims that it distorts history were untrue and that they were open to screening it to clear doubts. The film was submitted to the CBFC last week for certification, the makers added.

Makers of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati on Monday said they were ready to screen the film for those who had doubts about its content once the film was passed by the censor board.

Ajit Andhare, Chief Operating Officer, Viacom18 Motion Pictures, said the claims that film was a distortion of history were not true and they were open to screening the film after it was cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

We are first looking at the censor board (for clearance) and then we don’t have a problem (to show the film) because they are imagining something different and we would like to quell all these doubts first. But ideally we want to get the certificate first,” Andhare said.

He said the filmmakers had received some representations.

“We do not have a problem (in screening the film) please realise this is unprecedented, this is not how it is supposed to be done. What they (certain sections of people) are saying is not in the film, we do not have anything to hide,” he added.

He said they did not want the film to get stuck in any further controversy and were waiting to hear from the CBFC.

“We are going to this length as we want to quell the controversy; it is a needless controversy. The film doesn’t need it. The film has its own merit and we just want that the censor board gives us a screening date so that we can take it ahead. The ball is in the censor’s court,” he said.

The film was submitted to the CBFC last week.

“Bhansali Production applied online last Friday. We are waiting to hear from the board for the screening. That is our first priority.

“I am not foreseeing any problem. No film in the history of censor board has got delayed, I have no reason to believe the film will be delayed. We have nothing to worry (about),” he said.

Padmavati is scheduled to be released on December 1

19-year-old preparing for UPSC gang-raped in Bhopal for 3 hours

BHOPAL: For three hours, a 19-year-old college girl was tied up and raped by four men, who took breaks for tea and gutka before returning to assault her repeatedly under a bridge in the heart of Bhopal.

Click Here To For All Suicide News

What happened after the rapists let her go was no less horrifying. Three police stations refused to take her complaint — although both her parents are in police — and a GRP officer mocked her for "coming with a filmy story".

The parents — her father is a sub inspector with a security force and mother with the CID — and the girl nabbed two of the suspects in a dramatic daylight scuffle on Wednesday. Only then was a complaint registered. An embarrassed police force suspended SI R N Tekam of MP Nagar police station on Thursday for not accepting her complaint.

The horrifying gang rape has shaken Bhopal, where people take pride in their city as one of the safest for women. The spot where she was raped has some of the busiest roads and rail tracks — the bustling Habibganj station is just 100 metres away, and an RPF post just 50m away. Thousands of cars drove past just 100 metres from where she was stripped, tied up and raped repeatedly. Yet, no one heard a thing.

The survivor shuttles between her hometown, about an hour's journey from Bhopal, every day as she is preparing for the UPSC exams.

On Tuesday evening, the complaint notes, after her coaching classes got over, she began her short walk along the tracks towards Habibganj station. Around 7pm, a man now identified as Golu Bihari Chadhar — out on bail after being charged in her infant daughter's murder — grabbed her by her hand. She kicked out and felled him. Angry, Golu called out to an accomplice, Amar Ghuntu, and the two of them started dragging her towards a nullah. The girl kept fighting and hit both of them with a stone.

Furious, they hit her with a stone as well, tied her up, and raped her. After around 15 minutes, Golu went to fetch gutka and cigarettes, the complaint notes, leaving Amar to watch over her. Amar and Golu are brothers-in-law and married to two sisters.

The girl asked for some clothes because hers had been torn to shreds. Golu went back and got some clothes, perhaps of his wife's — and also brought along two others to join in. She was raped again, this time Rajesh and Ramesh allegedly joining the other two. The horror went on till 10pm when the brothers-inlaw finally allowed her to dress and leave — but after she had handed over her earrings, watch and phone.

She somehow walked to the RPF outpost at Habibganj station and called her parents. Her father was already looking for her. Seeing how traumatised she was, he took her home. The next morning, the family went to MP Nagar to file a complaint. An SI went to check the spot and told them to go to Habibganj police station, staff from where redirected them to Habibganj GRP. It is at the third stop that an officer mocked the girl, saying she was "making up a filmy story".

"While coming from Habibganj, my daughter saw two of the rapists loitering in front of Mansarowar Complex, which is around 500 metres from the spot of crime," said the mother. The cop parents and the feisty survivor chased down Amar and Golu and nabbed them. "We handed over the duo to GRP Habibganj," said the mother.

"It's one of the worst experiences of my life. If I, as a policewoman, have to face such problems in filing my daughter'sgangrape complaint, I can't imagine what a common man goes through," said the mother. "SHO GRP Mohit Saxena and SI Uikey misbehaved with us and said they wouldn't file any case. SI Uikey alleged that we were making a 'false filmy complaint',"

she added.

Lucknow: A massive explosion ripped a boiler at the state-run power giant NTPC's Unchahar plant in Uttar Pradesh's Rae Bareli district on Wednesday, killing at least 20 people and injuring nearly 100, officials said.

The NTPC initiated a probe to ascertain the reasons behind the blast, while Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced Rs 2 lakh compensation for the families of those killed and Rs 50,000 for the grievously injured, they added.
"Twenty deaths have been confirmed by the district administration. Twenty-two people with severe burns have been referred to Lucknow. Another 15 are admitted to a Rae Bareli hospital," Uttar Pradesh's ADG (Law and Order) Anand Kumar said.
He said that the number of casualties could rise.
Principal Secretary (Home) Arvind Kumar said that 90-100 people were injured in the blast.
In a statement, the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) said that at unit number six of its Unchahar plant, there was a sudden abnormal sound at 20-meter elevation around 3.30 pm in the afternoon.
There was an opening in corner number two from which hot flue gases and steam "escaped" affecting the people working around the area, the central public sector undertaking said.
It added that around 80 people were rushed to NTPC hospital, most of whom were discharged after first-aid.
The 1,550-MW plant supplies electricity to nine states, according to officials, and employs around 870 people.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he was "deeply pained" by the accident at the power plant and added that the situation was being closely monitored.
"Deeply pained by the accident at the NTPC plant in Raebareli. My thoughts are with the bereaved families. May the injured recover quickly. The situation is being closely monitored & officials are ensuring normalcy is restored: PM @narendramodi," the prime minister's office tweeted.
Union power minister RK Singh, through social media posts, expressed deep anguish at the loss of lives and said that he had directed NTPC chairman and managing director Gurdeep Singh to rush to the site.
The Unchahar sub-division in Rae Bareli, which is represented by Congress president Sonia Gandhi in Parliament, is around 110 kilometres from the state capital.
ADG Kumar said that all available ambulances were pressed into service, and the additional district magistrate and the additional superintendent of police were on the spot to supervise relief and rescue operations.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on a three-day official visit to Mauritius, ordered that necessary steps be taken for rescue and relief.

The chief minister has taken cognisance of the Unchahar accident and has directed the principal secretary (home) to ensure that all steps were taken for rescue and relief, principal secretary (information) Awanish Awasthi, who is accompanying Adityanath, said.
"The chief minister expressed his condolences over the deaths of workers in the Unchahar NTPC unit and announced Rs 2 lakh compensation for the family of those killed and Rs 50,000 for the grievously injured, besides Rs 25,000 for other injured workers," Awasthi said.
A National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team was also despatched to the explosion site from the state capital for relief and rescue operations, an official said.
The explosion triggered panic among the employees who ran helter-skelter. Such explosions can generate searing heat, an official said.
An injured employee undergoing treatment at a hospital said that a sudden gush of hot gas with contents of ash-like material engulfed him at the NTPC plant.
The man said he was unable to understand what had happened and found himself on a hospital bed with his body scalded all over, when he regained consciousness.
The plant area was cordoned off by the police to facilitate smooth running of ambulances. Two companies of the Uttar Pradesh Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) have been sent to the plant as reinforcement.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi expressed shock and horror at the "terrible tragedy" in her Lok Sabha constituency. Conveying her deepest condolences to the families of the bereaved, Gandhi urged upon the authorities to provide immediate medical assistance to the injured.
Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi will take a break from election campaign in Gujarat to visit Rae Bareli on Thursday to meet the families of the victims.
"Due to the unfortunate NTPC accident, I will visit Rae Bareli tomorrow morning," he said on Twitter.
District Magistrate Sanjay Kumar Khatri told PTI that 40 ambulances were immediately pressed into service.

Chief Medical Officer of Rae Bareli DK Singh, along with a team of 10 doctors, was deployed to carry out immediate treatment to the injured, the district magistrate said.
He also said that arrangements have been made to bring the serious cases to KGMU Hospital and the Civil Hospital in Lucknow. Some of the injured were being sent to Rae Bareli, Khatri said.
CMO Singh said that, if necessary, some of the critical cases could be referred to Delhi by air ambulance.
