With 94 new cases, a total of 2272 positive patients in the state, 61 in Ahmedabad and 17 in Surat, more than five patients died in the state.

Ahmedabad - the highest death and positive patient in the state

The total death toll in the state reached 95 A with 5 more deaths

A total of 144 patients were healed with 5 more patients in the state and returned home

Gujarat reached second place in the country in more cases, more deaths

So far 94 new cases have been reported in the state since last evening. With this, the total number of positive patients in the state has reached 2272. The total death toll in the state today has reached 95 with five new deaths. Five patients have been discharged and a total of 144 patients in the state have recovered and returned home.

President Ramnath Kovinde has approved the Epidemic Disease Ordinance-2020. Along with this, strict action will be taken against those who attack health workers in the country. The ordinance provides for imprisonment ranging from three months to seven months. The central government has come up with a safety net for health workers after an attack on a health worker treating a corona patient in the country.

Regarding the decision taken at the cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said that those who attack health workers have been given a strict sentence of six months to seven years.

Strict action will be taken against the attacker

If the health workers’ vehicles or clinics are damaged, the accused will be charged twice the market value of the damaged property, the Union Minister announced.

The central government on Thursday suspended disbursement of increased dearness allowance (DA) to its employees and pensioners announced last month and decided to freeze the next two hikes as well because of the strain on its finances due to the coronavirus pandemic.

As a result of the freeze, the government will not pay the hike in dearness allowance that was due from January 1, 2020, and the rates will remain the same till July next year, a notification issued by the government said. The government also said no arrears for the period from January 1, 2020, to June 30, 2021, will be paid.
