Tiger Zinda Hai box office collection: Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif film has been making and breaking records from the day one of its release. For the audience that craves entertainment, Bhai’s film has certainly provided a wholesome and complete package and now there is no stopping the footfalls! After a massive four day extended weekend, the film performed so well that it made its place in Rs 100 crore club in only 3 days – over the weekend itself! While it took just a day extra for the film to cross Rs 150 cr mark at the box office. And for Salman Khan’s birthday today, his fans gave him an early gift – the film performed extremely well on the first working day after Christmas break (Tuesday)! The overall total of the film stood at Rs 173.07 cr on day 5 of the release. 

There are 3 more days for the week to come to an end, and with the overwhelming response that it is getting and the humongous amount that the film is collecting at the box office, the movie is all set to get into Rs 200 crore club before the current week comes to a close.

The film is set to become the second highest Bollywood grosser of 2017 and has gone past the lifetime number of Judwaa 2 which collected Rs. 138.61 cr, Raees with collection of Rs. 137.51 cr and Toilet – Ek Prem Katha with Rs. 134.25 cr as the lifetime collection. It is just behind Golmaal Again which has a number of Rs. 205.70 crore. But this number is expected to be surpassed by Friday morning.

Being Salman Khan’s birthday today which is no less of a celebration for his fans, it can be assumed that collections will shoot up on day six as well. Talking about the film’s success, Salman Khan said in a statement, “I thank my fans and audiences for showering so much love on Tiger Zinda Hai. It was an extremely challenging shoot for the entire crew given we had to pull off some incredible action sequences sometimes in the blistering heat and then in the freezing cold and the love that the movie is getting right now only validates the effort that everyone had put in to make Tiger Zinda Hai a really good entertainer,” reported the aapkasamachar. 

The film had already broken many other records on box-office. It included the record of the highest non-holiday day one in history. The film has also managed to create record holiday/non-holiday three-day weekend. Salman Khan’s film has already gone past the collection of his own film, Ek The Tiger on the first day by earning Rs 34.10 cr. This also gives rise to another question, will it cruise past the collection of Prabhas starrer Baahubali 2? It has a collection of over Rs 500 cr!

Andhra Pradesh: Minor girl raped by two men

The girl informed her parents after which a complaint was lodged. 

A case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act) 2012 was registered, he said, adding a probe was on.

A 17-year-old minor girl was allegedly raped by two men in Palakolu of West Godavari district, police said on Tuesday.

The victim, along with her friend, was retuning to her house in Palakollu on a two-wheeler last night after visiting the Laxminarayana temple, said Palakollu Circle Inspector B Krishna Kumar.

When the girls came near the Ayyappa Swamy temple, two men forcefully stopped the two-wheeler and took the victim with them, added Kumar.

The duo took the girl to an isolated placed and allegedly raped her. 

They brought the girl back to the place from where she was picked up and fled away from the spot, the officer said.

Jio has announced a new cashback offer that provides benefits of up to Rs. 3,300 for new and existing Prime users, just hours after the closure of its "Triple Cashback" offer. To recall, the Triple Cashback Offer had benefits up to Rs. 2,599. Jio Prime subscribers opting for recharges of Rs. 399 or above will get cashback vouchers from Jio as well as wallet cashback and discounts on e-commerce partners such as Grofers, OYO, Yatra, and Paytm Mall among others. The total benefits of the Jio cashback come to Rs. 3,300 in value. The offer has come into effect from Tuesday and will continue until January 15. The new development comes a day after Jio refreshed its existing data packs and launched Rs. 199 and Rs. 299 packs to offer up to 2GB data per day.

Jio cashback for Paytm, Amazon Pay, and other wallets

As per the offer, which Jio calls "Surprise Cashback Offer", subscribers who recharge their accounts with Rs. 399 or above from MyJio or Jio.com site will get Rs. 400 cashback in the form of eight vouchers of Rs. 50. Oppo has launched a new affordable smartphone in China - the Oppo A83. The phone comes with a new facial recognition technology and sports a display with an 18:9 aspect ratio.

The Oppo A83 has been launched in China at a price of CNY 1,399 (roughly Rs. 13,700). The smartphone will available in Champagne and Black colour variants in China for pre-order with sale starting December 29. There is no update regarding launch and availability in other markets.

Oppo A83 Specifications

The Oppo A83 is a dual SIM (GSM+GSM) smartphone and runs Color OS 3.2-based on top of Android 7.1 Nougat. The phone is powered by a 2.5GHz octa-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM. The Oppo A83 sports a 5.7-inch HD+ (720x1440 pixels) LCD display and an 18:9 aspect ratio.

In the camera department, the Oppo A83 comes with a 13-megapixel sensor and an LED flash. On the front is a 8-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calling. The phone also features 16GB inbuilt storage expandable via microSD card (up to 256GB).

The Oppo A83 uses a new facial recognition technology that, Oppo claims, can unlock the phone within 0.18 seconds using 128 unique feature points on the user's face. According to an Oppo China listing, users might be eligible for a free QY7 Bluetooth headset with purchase of the Oppo A83.

Oppo recently announced the launch of two new smartphones in the Taiwan market. The Oppo A75 and Oppo A75s come with 6.0-inch full-HD+ (1080x2160 pixels) displays with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The Oppo A75 comes with 32GB inbuilt storage and the Oppo A75s has 64GB inbuilt storage.

WhatsApp's farewell note for 2017 is not good news for some smartphone users. WhatsApp will stop working on devices running BlackBerry OS, BlackBerry 10, and Windows Phone 8.0 and older from December 31, 2017. The WhatsApp blog post with end-of-life dates clearly mentions that users of BlackBerry OS, BlackBerry 10, and Windows Phone 8.0 and older operating systems will not be able to use the app after December 31, 2017 - less than a week from now.

To recall, WhatsApp had extended support for both platforms in June this year. At the time, WhatsApp had also revealed that the app will stop working for phones running Nokia S40 will be stopped from December 31, 2018. The app will stop working on phones running Android 2.3.7 and older (Gingerbread) will be stopped from February 1, 2020. The messaging app became unavailable on Nokia phones running Symbian S60, from June 30, 2017.
