In times when actors feared to star in multi-starrers, Riteish Deshmukh unhesitatingly signed the movies with an ensemble cast and made sure to give a performance which helped him carve his own niche in the industry.

We have often heard many say, “It’s harder to make someone laugh than it is to make them cry.” And Riteish Deshmukh is one Bollywood star who knows how to master this difficult task. He might have remained under the shadows even after spending fifteen years in the industry, but Riteish has helped people break through their humdrum lifestyle with his dose of humour.

His role in films like Masti, Dhamaal, Housefull, Apna Sapna Money Money and others have left the audience rolling down the aisle. Also, in times when actors feared to star in multi-starrers, Riteish unhesitatingly signed movies with an ensemble cast and made sure to give a performance which helped him carve his own niche in the industry.

No matter how much criticism his films received from critics, Riteish Deshmukh’s movies pull in the masses and continue to spread smiles even after years of release. Riteish’s perfect comic timing is visible not only in his reel life but is also quite evident in his real life through his tweets, social media posts and interviews.

His recent post wishing Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli on their wedding got special attention of Twitterati. Being his witty best, Riteish wrote, “From now onwards @imVkohli will happily be the vice captain at home … hail the new captain @AnushkaSharma …. once again wish you a happy married life.” Fuktrey Returns actor Pulkit Samrat who has worked with Riteish in Bangistan (2015) once said about him, “Riteish is known for his comic timing and it is very difficult to match up to his talent.”

Today, on Riteish’s 38th birthday, we try to list down his best comedy roles.

1. Housefull 2

The scene where Riteish and Akshay Kumar meet ‘Fifi’, the crocodile and mistakes it to be asleep left the audiences bursting with laughter at the theaters. And the moment when crocodile bites off Riteish derrière is still loved by all.
2. Dhamaal

When Riteish stepped into the shoes of Detective Roy and tried to act smart by playing “Maut Ka Khel” with Sanjay Dutt had everyone in splits.
3. Apna Sapna Money Money

Riteish Deshmukh bluffed the audience with his disguises in the 2006 release Apna Sapna Money Money which also starred Chunkey Pandey, Shreyas Talpade and Anupam Kher. He managed to pull off some of the best lines and the best gags in the movie.
4. Bluffmaster

Riteish Deshmukh donned the role of a con-man Dittu in the Abhishek Bachchan, Nana Patekar, Priyanka Chopra and Boman Irani starrer. He managed to invoke chuckles just with his poker face and his witty one-liners.
5. Double Dhamaal

Riteish Deshmukh managed to grab the IIFA Award for the Best Performance in a Comic Role for Double Dhamaal. He managed to create some madcap moments on screen in the movie.
And for those who try to typecast the actor as a comic actor, one must watch him play a character with gray shades in 2014 release Ek Villain and then a rugged man in his Marathi debut Lai Bhaari. One thing which can definitely be said about Riteish Deshmukh is that the actor has fought the failures and created his own space in the Indian film industry. Not only the adult comedy, he has also proved his mettle in slapstick and poker-faced comedy. Here’s hoping for more such splendid performances from the actor.

Sunny Leone might be responsible for mass suicide on New Year's Eve; know why

The Bollywood actress is said to be a part of the event called 'Sunny Night in Bengaluru NYE 2018.

Sunny Leone has to continuously fight for herself regarding the past identity and the recent development with regards to this actress appears no less.

Sunny might have triggered a protest group, the members of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike Yuva Sene, the youth wing of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike, to commit mass suicide on New Year’s Eve. The reason? Sunny Leone was going to be part of an event in Karnataka.

The event featuring the actress is called 'Sunny Night in Bengaluru NYE 2018.'

Harish, the leader of the Pro-Kannada activists, told Indian Express, "We are against Sunny wearing short clothes. If she wears saree and takes part in the event, even we'll go watch her. Sunny doesn't have a good past. We shouldn't be encouraging such people.

We will not hesitate to commit suicide on December 31."

Syed Minaj, general secretary of the protesting group, took Leone's past into consideration. He says, "We all know who Sunny Leone is, she is not an Indian or a Kannadiga. We know her history, we don't want her to spoil the culture of the land," according to reports on India Today.

Reacting to the violent protests, the organiser issued a statement. "This is a family-type programme with Sunny dancing on a Kannada song, and I, being a Kannadiga, have kept the programme's standard based on the Bengaluru culture itself.

Even though Sunny got a lot of events that offered her more money, she rejected those and agreed to come to Bengaluru since Bengaluru and Hyderabad are her favourite places. I don't know what the protestors are expecting or what they think; this is a family show where the culture of the state won't be disturbed,’’ said the organiser.

Sunny was recently in news for being an actress into consideration for the role of Meena Kumari in the late actress’ biopic.

Sunny was expected to participate in a New Year party event at Manyatha Tech Park on December 31 night.

The protesters are urging her not to participate in the scheduled event. They have threatened that if she attended the event, then the party workers would commit suicide.

Jayadev Prasad, Secretary of KARAVE sai,: "We don't have any objections, if she (Sunny) attends the programme with a saree as per Indian culture.
If she attends the event, with a half dress or in any other ways we will commit suicide at the event."

Idea Rivals Jio With New Rs. 398 Plan With 1GB Data Per Day, Free Roaming Calls for 70 Days

Idea’s Rs. 398 plan originally offered 35-day validityThe data benefit has been doubled with this revisionBuyers will also get seven vouchers of Rs. 51 with this pack

Idea has revised its Rs. 398 plan to offer twice the validity while keeping the calling and data benefits, seemingly only for select users.
This comes just a day after it introduced the Rs. 309 plan with 28-day validity, and two days after it debuted the Rs. 509 prepaid recharge pack
The Idea Rs. 398 plan now offers 70-day validity, instead of the previous 35 days. This plan competes with Reliance Jio Rs. 399 plan, which offers the same calling and data benefits as well as the same validity.

Idea subscribers need to check the official app to see if the plan is available to them with extended validity as the official website still mentions 35-day validity, meaning this is a personalised plan which might be available to select consumers only. Buyers will get 1GB data per day for 70 days, meaning 70GB of total data, with this prepaid pack. It provides users with bundled voice STD and local calls and 100 SMSes per day as well.
However, the original Rs. 398 plan came with free outgoing calls on roaming. The free roaming calls are not mentioned in the MyIdea app, but Gadgets 360 spoke to an Idea customer care executive who confirmed that the plan will offer free incoming and outgoing calls in all circles.

The free calls, as is the norm nowadays, are limited to 250 minutes per day and 1,000 minutes per week; exhausting this limit will entail tariff of 1 paisa per second. Also, users are not allowed to call more than 100 unique numbers in a week; in this case, the calls will be charged at 1 paisa per second.
Those who purchase the recharge pack will get seven vouchers of Rs. 51 each, which can be used while buying recharges of Rs. 300 or more over the next one year.
As mentioned above, this is the toughest challenge yet from Idea against the Rs. 399 Jio plan, which provides 1GB data per day as well as free calls and SMSes for 70 days, along with access to Jio apps.
