Idea Rivals Jio With New Rs. 398 Plan With 1GB Data Per Day, Free Roaming Calls for 70 Days

Idea’s Rs. 398 plan originally offered 35-day validityThe data benefit has been doubled with this revisionBuyers will also get seven vouchers of Rs. 51 with this pack

Idea has revised its Rs. 398 plan to offer twice the validity while keeping the calling and data benefits, seemingly only for select users.
This comes just a day after it introduced the Rs. 309 plan with 28-day validity, and two days after it debuted the Rs. 509 prepaid recharge pack
The Idea Rs. 398 plan now offers 70-day validity, instead of the previous 35 days. This plan competes with Reliance Jio Rs. 399 plan, which offers the same calling and data benefits as well as the same validity.

Idea subscribers need to check the official app to see if the plan is available to them with extended validity as the official website still mentions 35-day validity, meaning this is a personalised plan which might be available to select consumers only. Buyers will get 1GB data per day for 70 days, meaning 70GB of total data, with this prepaid pack. It provides users with bundled voice STD and local calls and 100 SMSes per day as well.
However, the original Rs. 398 plan came with free outgoing calls on roaming. The free roaming calls are not mentioned in the MyIdea app, but Gadgets 360 spoke to an Idea customer care executive who confirmed that the plan will offer free incoming and outgoing calls in all circles.

The free calls, as is the norm nowadays, are limited to 250 minutes per day and 1,000 minutes per week; exhausting this limit will entail tariff of 1 paisa per second. Also, users are not allowed to call more than 100 unique numbers in a week; in this case, the calls will be charged at 1 paisa per second.
Those who purchase the recharge pack will get seven vouchers of Rs. 51 each, which can be used while buying recharges of Rs. 300 or more over the next one year.
As mentioned above, this is the toughest challenge yet from Idea against the Rs. 399 Jio plan, which provides 1GB data per day as well as free calls and SMSes for 70 days, along with access to Jio apps.

Rajinikanth turns 67: From being a ‘Sruthi Betham’ to becoming a Superstar

To Kollywood of yore, everything that made Rajinikanth who he is was probably sruthi betham: his stylised gestures, the pace at which he spoke, his throaty laughter.

In Carnatic music, Sruthi Betham is when the singer misses pitch. Ironically, Rajinikanth’s first ever frame called him a Sruthi Betham. Pushing off a creaky gate, his entry into the glitzy, glamourous world of cinema wasn’t the brisk strut that is now immortal. He slowly walks inside and asks with a tinge of uncertainty, “Bhairavi veedu idhu dhane?” to Kamal Haasan. To Kollywood back then, everything that made Rajini who he is, was probably sruthi betham: his stylised gestures, the pace at which he spoke, his throaty laughter. As opposed to the more manicured Kamal Haasan, Rajini’s unconventional and raw style made him relevant to masses. And a new villain was born.
It almost seems like a paradox that Rajinikanth started out with negative roles (several of them show him as a womaniser) when you look at the squeaky clean characters he is expected to play now. Rajini was quite the ‘bad boy’ of the 70s with some stellar performances in Avargal, Moondru Mudichu, and Aval Appadithan. The years ‘77, ‘78 and ’79 were especially extremely busy as he is said to have starred in more than 30 films.
After a brief break, the Superstar made a stellar return with Billa, probably one of the biggest hits from the Amitabh Bachchan films that Rajini remade. That brings us to a surprising pattern in the Superstar’s career. Rajinikanth has been someone who has always understood the pan-Indian appeal of our stories, irrespective of the language they are made in. He understood the importance of bringing stories from other languages to Tamil.

And mind you he didn’t just bring it, his remakes has his own brand strongly imprinted on them. Billa, Mr Bharath, Muthu, Thee, Panakaran, Annamalai, Mannan, Chandramukhi are some of the memorable titles. The success was phenomenal. So much so that the success of Muthu was mentioned by the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in his address to the Japanese delegation. In an ‘99 article, American magazine Newsweek had said, “Rajinikanth, the male lead in “Muthu” and “Yajaman,” has supplanted Leonardo DiCaprio as Japan’s trendiest heartthrob.”
Rajinikanth was also a victim of stardom, probably the biggest victim as well. As stars do, he was trapped in the expectations of the audience. His films had to satisfy his fans. Gone was the unassuming actor ‘Rajini’ from Thappu Thalangal, Aarilirunthu Aruvathuvarai and so many other beautiful films from his previous phases started. The star ‘Rajini’ took over. Not that I minded seeing the star on screen, nobody does it better. I still remember watching Padayappa, mesmerised by his screen presence. A dialogue from the same movie describes Rajini’s screen presence the best; Ramya Krishna looking at Rajini says “Vayasanalum un style um azhagum inum unna vitu pogala”. In his trademark pace, Rajini says “Kudave poranthathu enikum pogathu”. The dialogue stands good even today, with his latest venture Kabali. After a tired Linga, it was refreshing to see the Superstar play his age and yet be the stylish star that he is known to be. Despite being the macho man, I loved the vulnerability Kabali had, something that reminded me of his Aboorva Ragangal days.
Which is why I am excited about 2.0 and Kaala, his upcoming projects. We won’t just see Thalaivar on screen again, we will see him as the artiste we loved. Rajini might be modest enough to say that ‘Superstar’ tag was just a “padhavi” (position) — “Like Commissioner, Collector, Chief Minister or Prime Minister.” Anyone who delivered blockbusters was a Superstar. But for us, it is as Chiyaan Vikram said, “Oru Suriyan. Oru Chandran. Oru Superstar.” And that will not change. Whether he enters politics or not, whether he is in Himalayas or in Poes Garden, whether he acts in films or not. Afterall, he is and will always be Thalaivar for a reason.

Anushka Sharma, Virat Kohli wedding: How they managed to keep it a secret for a year

Join our :- Telegram Channal Latest News

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli got married in a private ceremony in Italy on Monday. It was in the works for a year so how did Virushka manage to keep it a secret for so long?

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli wedding is the event of the year and nothing proved it like the social media frenzy on Monday evening. As news trickled in that the two will release a statement and photos post their nuptials in a glittering ceremony in Tuscany, Italy, the fans – to use a cliché – just could not keep calm.

There were tweets every second as fans beseeched the couple to end their agony and share Virushka – a combination of Virat and Anushka – photos. The two were soon top trends on social media and when the photos finally came, you could almost hear a collective cheer from the virtual world.
A wedding between a cricketer and a Bollywood star is always a big deal but Virat and Anushka are two individuals at the top of their careers and have a long innings ahead of them. But what really made this a national event – like it or not but it is one – was thanks to its shock value. Nobody expected a wedding right now but as people were wondering will-they-won’t-they, the cricketer and actor turned the conversation to ‘when will they’.
While the wedding was fixed almost a year ago, frantic preparations have been going on for weeks without anyone being the wiser. As wedding planners Shaadi Squad confessed, what we saw in Italy on Monday was the result of weeks of hush-hush prep. They said, “Four months of keeping a secret, hiding even from our own team, the secret recces, midnight meetings, vague conversations, and sleepless nights have finally manifested into this grand moment.

Thank you Anuskha and Virat, for making us part of your family and trusting us to pull off something of this magnitude. You believed in us, even on those sleepless nights that we didn’t! “

Virushka wedding fixed in Sri Lanka
According to an India Today report, the two families met and discussed the wedding in Sri Lanka while Virat and Anushka kept the world busy by releasing photos of them gardening. The family priest announced December was the right time and preparations began from their on.
The couple, however, made sure that they were guarded when they spoke about each other. While Anushka maintained a stoic silence, breaking it only to say that she wants focus on her work and not her personal life, Virat’s adorable posts about his would-be wife kept media busy.

It was Virat-- among the world’s highest-paid athletes and a huge star in the cricket-mad nation – requesting a break from his duties as a captain in December that started the rumours. However, well-placed sources dismissed it and said he wants a break because he needs rest.
As Virat pulled out of India’s limited-overs matches against Sri Lanka, Anushka also ducked out of her busy acting schedule in December. As Anushka was seen leaving India with her parents and priest in tow on Thursday, Virat took an evening flight for Italy from Delhi. Select friends and family followed suit.
The wedding was but a few days away and the media had finally caught on. It was at this time that Anushka’s rep decided to muddy the water by saying no wedding was on the cards and she was not in the know.

Anushka Sharma’s denial through rep
On the day of the wedding – December 11 – Yash Raj Films revealed the wedding has indeed taken place and that they misdirected the media because the couple wanted a ‘private affair’. “We are very happy to announce that Ms. Anushka Sharma and Mr. Virat Kohli got married at a private ceremony in Italy, today. The wedding was attended by close family and a few friends as they wished their wedding to be a very private affair. The wedding was performed as per Hindu rituals.

Top fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee has designed the wedding ensemble for both the bride and the groom. Virat and Anushka will now start inviting all industry friends and colleagues for the celebrations that are set to happen in Mumbai,” they said in the statement.

The couple itself posted on social media, “Today we have promised each other to be bound in love forever. We are truly blessed to share the news with you.”

However, the cloak of secrecy didn’t deter Virat and Anushka who put up a spectacular show in Italy. Their wedding took place at a super-exclusive resort in Italy.

Virat and Anushka’s clothes
“We designed the clothes for both bride and groom for all the functions. From engagement to mehendi and sangeet, for the wedding and post-wedding dinner,” designer Sabyasachi said in a statement. For her wedding, Anushka wore a pale pink lehenga with Renaissance embroidery in vintage English colours embellished with silver-gold metal thread, pearls and beads. The groom looked smart in an ivory raw silk sherwani hand-embroidered in a vintage Benarasi pattern, with an old rose silk kota safa.

Cuisine at the Virushka wedding
Chef Ritu Dalmia was in charge of the catering and served a mix of Indian and Italian delicacies. From porcini mushrooms wrapped in bikaneri roti to stuffed ravioli with paneer kurchan, the menu at Virat and Anushka’s wedding was tailor-made. The spread was extensive south Indian, with Indian desserts like rabdi, etc.

The couple will travel to South Africa where Virat will start prepping for the upcoming series and Anushka will spend New Year’s Eve with him and return in the first week of January to begin the next schedule of Anand L Rai’s film with Shah Rukh Khan in Mumbai. She will also promote her production, Pari, which releases on February 9.

The couple will shift to their new residence in Worli, Mumbai in December once they return from Delhi. But first, they have to prepare for the upcoming reception and this time, media will be parked right outside.
