Mumbai: Veteran actor Sridevi's funeral is expected in Mumbai today in a few hours, after her body is flown back from Dubai, where she died on the weekend. Since this morning, film stars, celebrities and fans have been seen at the home of Anil Kapoor, Sridevi's brother-in-law and former co-star.

Sridevi, 54, died suddenly on Saturday night of a cardiac arrest, leaving Bollywood in deep shock and millions of fans heartbroken. She collapsed in her hotel room in Dubai, where she had gone with husband Boney Kapoor and daughter Khushi for a family wedding.

The Khaleej Times quoted family sourcesto report that Boney Kapoor, waiting to take Sridevi out to dinner, found her motionless in the bathtub of her room at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers. Boney Kapoor, a filmmaker, had returned to Mumbai with their daughter but had flown back to Dubai reportedly to surprise his wife.

A medical team failed to revive her. The family said Sridevi did not have any history of heart ailments.

The family waited all of Sunday but Sridevi's body was not handed over to them as UAE authorities carried out an autopsy. In a statement last evening, the family said the actor's body will arrive in Mumbai today.

According to reports, industrialist Anil Ambani has offered to fly Sridevi's body back in a private jet.

The Indian film fraternity has been shaken by the unexpected tragedy. Hundreds have gathered outside Sridevi's Mumbai home, hoping for a final glimpse.

A stream of stars, former co-stars and others were seen at the house of Anil Kapoor, the younger brother of Boney Kapoor.

Southern superstars Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan have headed to Mumbai to pay their respects to Sridevi.

Since the news of her death, Sridevi's last videos at the wedding of her nephew Mohit Marwah have been widely shared and snapshots of her life and films have been all over the media.

Sridevi began working at the age of four and, in a career spanning five decades, acted in 300 films.
The gorgeous actor, often described as India's one and only female superstar and the queen of the 1990s, was best known for her roles in "Sadma", "Lamhe" "Mr India", "Chandni" and "Himmatwala". A versatile actor known for her impeccable comic timing, she reigned over not just Bollywood, but also the Tamil, Telugu and Kannada film industry.

After a 15-year break following her marriage to Boney Kapoor, a much leaner Sridevi made a smashing comeback with the 2012 film "English Vinglish". She followed it up with the thriller "Mom".

Sridevi died before she could see her older daughter Jhanvi's debut in films this year.

The latest one is Priya Prakash Varrier , who is seen being wooed by her boyfriend at high-school, and as she plays with her eyebrows and winks, it looked like magic for netizens, and everyone ventured on a hunt to find out who this girl with mesmerising smile and eyes is.

For all those, who are still clueless about the same, Priya Prakash Varrier has been quite active on social media, and ardently following Mohiniyattam. Her social media posts suggest that she is a B Com student from Vimala College, Thrissur.

She was overwhelmed by all the love and attention she has been showered with, and she tweeted, "Thanks for Oru Adaar Love, I am stunned by the Over whelming Support across Social Media. Never knew my debut could be a National Trend #PriyaPrakashVarrier. Grateful to Omar Lulu Sir. Realized already so many twitter accounts of mine doing rounds (sic)."

Priya thanked everyone, and posted this:-

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Thank you so much for the love and support for <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/ManikyaMalarayaPoovi?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#ManikyaMalarayaPoovi</a><a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/OruAdaarLove?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#OruAdaarLove</a>. 4.3 Million views for YouTube &amp; counting, 600k+ for me going bigger in Instagram. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/MondayMotivation?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#MondayMotivation</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/PriyaPrakashVarrier?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#PriyaPrakashVarrier</a> <a href="https://t.co/vKLLQKiho2">pic.twitter.com/vKLLQKiho2</a></p>&mdash; Priya Prakash Varrier (@ppriyavarrier) <a

Below is her another tweet:-

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Thanks for Oru Adaar Love, I am stunned by the Over whelming Support across Social Media. Interestingly, apart from the posts of people head over heels in love with her expressive face, trolls and rib-tickling memes too found its way on social media. While she winks, the person on the other side is replaced with faces of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Donald Trump, Putin and the like, and netizens have found it hilarious as well.

According to a recent report on BoxOfficeIndia.com, the film has collected Rs 10.25 crore on Day 8 at the ticket window, taking its overall box-office collection past the 150 crore mark. With the total earnings of Rs 159.5 crore, the film has proved to be a blockbuster and has been liked by both the audience as well as the critics. Even Bollywood celebs took to their respective social media handles to praise the film, with spectacular visuals captured by Bhansali being the highlight of the film.

According to experts, the film's collections could have been higher given that it would have released in all the states of India. Currently, the film can maintain a stronghold at the box-office this week too as there are no major big-budget releases.

Talking about Ranveer-Deepika, Bhansali even revealed that he would continue to work with them. He said, "I love Deepika and the effortlessness which she brings on the set. I even feel that her performances are detailed and nuanced which makes me want to work with her again." Adding to it he even said, "I think Ranveer is aware of his strengths and limitations and hence he knows what to extract from him. Ranveer would achieve much more greatness only if he could become a little effortless too."

Aditi Rao Hydari‏, who played Mehrunissa in 'Padmaavat' has praised Deepika for her role of Padmavati. She tweeted, "A tweet just seems so impersonal but since I haven't managed to get through to you and Ive been away... just to say big respect and huge love for #Padmaavat... to padmavati from mehrunissa! love you @deepikapadukone

Here is a map to show you how massive this issue has become:

Latest update: At a press conference on Thursday, Haryana Police said that 18 people have been arrested for stone pelting incident in Gurugram.
Congress leader Priyanka Chaturvedi hit out at the BJP-led NDA government, and said that they (BJP) should be "ashamed of themselves that they continue to play politics over these issues."
Even as protest against Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat rages on in various parts of the country, the Delhi High Court refused to entertain pleas against the movie. Contempt pleas against four states have also been filed in the Supreme Court.
A fringe outfit in Kanpur on Wednesday announced a cash reward for anyone chopping off actor Deepika Padukone's nose amid the violence over release of multi-crore film Padmaavat.
"We have collected a bounty of crores of rupees from Kanpurites to be given as reward to anyone who will bring the chopped off nose of Deepika Padukone," fringe group Kanpur Kshatriya Mahasabha president Gajendra Singh Rajawat said.
Big crackdown done as Delhi Police carried out preventive detentions of members of various Fringe groups who were planning to protest against #Padmaavat today. The state police didn't want to take any chances as ASEAN summit is on.
After the attack on a school bus by anti-Padmaavat protestors, some reputed schools in Gurugram have decided to remain shut till Sunday in view of the violence over the controversial film's release.
The schools which have decided to shut down till Sunday includes Pathways school, GD Goenka school, Shiv Nadar school and Delhi Public School.
The management of the schools confirmed that they would close down as a precaution despite the district administration and the Gurugram police assuring adequate security.

Around 25 students of GD Goenka World School were on their way home when a group of around 60 activists, believed to be members of a fringe group, attacked the bus with bamboo sticks asking the driver to stop the vehicle.
"We do not want to take any risk with the life of students. Protection of students outside and inside is our prime concern," a school teacher told PTI on the condition of anonymity.
"If the violators can attack school buses and Haryana roadways buses openly despite prohibitory orders and tight security arrangements of the Gurugram Police," the teacher said, adding, "We cannot take a chance and have decided to close down."
The teacher said that a total of six schools have taken the decision to remain shut.
Gurugram Deputy Commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh, in an appeal, said the public transport system of the city should not be disturbed.
"Some people and groups want rioting in the district but we appeal to residents and groups not to violate law and order situation and Section 144 is already imposed in the city," Singh told PTI.
"Everyone has the right to protest but in a peaceful way. Violation of law and order is not allowed. The situation is peaceful in Gurugram and all colleges, schools, offices will remain open on Thursday," he added.
The Gurugram police have arrested 20 people for allegedly violating prohibitory orders, a senior official said.
Gurugram police along with 550 additional forces including local police stations teams have been deployed in the city's major areas including multiplexes, Commissioner of Police Sandeep Khairwar said.
"All Gurugram malls have been directed to tighten their internal security. I along with other senior officers are monitoring the security arrangements in their respective zones," he said.
"The Gurugram Police is on a high alert and various teams are ready to respond quickly in case of any untoward incident," Khairawar said.
